I replaced the Crankshaft sensor myself (not the Camshaft sensor) which is located in the middle at the bottom at the back of the Fiat Bravo 1.9 8v diesel engine, it is completely impossible to see or replace this sensor looking down from the top of a complete engine and you will need to take the bottom guard underneath your car (Bravo) to access, you will need plenty of head and arm clearance to get to the Crankshaft sensor i.e. One of my suspicions was correct, it was the Crankshaft sensor that was faulty when the engine got hot and dying on me, think it works on a magnetic pulse and has a reed switch inside that can become sticky and intermittent when worn out! Hi, Guy's Just want to let you know that the car is now sorted! I got the camshaft belt replaced + tensioner and water pump the camshaft sensor was replaced too underneath camshaft pulley! But although the belt needed doing in about 15K anyway the Camshaft sensor was not the main problem with the car cutting out it was the Crankshaft sensor instead, which I had confirmed by a RAC man.
